RULES OF PLAY

GENERAL 

A series of 50/50 draws (six in total) will take place between June 15 and December 31, 2021 at the Oakville & Milton Humane Society, 445 Cornwall Road, Oakville, ON L6J 7S8. 

By purchasing a ticket for the Oakville & Milton Humane Society’s 50/50 Lottery, the purchaser acknowledges that they have read, understood and agreed to these rules. The liability of the licensee shall be limited to the purchase price of the ticket, which is not tax deductible. 

ELIGIBILITY 

Ticket purchasers must be 18 years of age or older. 

Ticket purchasers must be located in the province of Ontario at the time of purchase. 

Only tickets that have been paid and verified as paid by the respective sales deadline are eligible. 

The Rules prohibit the following individuals and all persons residing in the same household as these individuals from purchasing a ticket: 

  • Employees and Board Directors of the Oakville & Milton Humane Society 
  • Employees of the ticket fulfillment service provider and its affiliates or Employees of registered gaming suppliers involved in the OMHS 50/50 draws 
  • Employees of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario 

TICKETS

Tickets must be purchased in Ontario and purchasers must be at least 18 years of age.  

Ticket prices are 3 for $10, 20 for $20 or 150 for $50.  

Tickets will be available online at happytails5050.ca.

Tickets will be sold using an electronic raffle system supplied by Canadian Bank Note Company Limited.  

After buying tickets, patrons will receive a confirmation email with their 50/50 registered numbers which are from a Random Selection System. No specific numbers can be given as numbers are generated randomly. 

Tickets sold for a specific monthly draw are not eligible for subsequent monthly draws. 

50/50 LOTTERY & DRAWS

Draw 1: June 15 to July 30, 2021 

The draw will take place on July 30 at 1p.m. The deadline to purchase tickets is July 30 at 12 noon in order to be eligible for this draw.
 
Draw 2: July 31 to August 31, 2021 
The draw will take place on August 31 at 1p.m. The deadline to purchase tickets August 31 at 12 noon in order to be eligible for this draw.
 
Draw 3: September 1 to September 30, 2021 
The draw will take place on September 30 at 1p.m. The deadline to purchase tickets September 30 at 12 noon in order to be eligible for this draw.
 
Draw 4: October 1 to October 29, 2021 
The draw will take place on October 29 at 1p.m. The deadline to purchase tickets October 29 at 12 noon in order to be eligible for this draw.
 
Draw 5: October 30 to November 30, 2021 
The draw will take place on November 30 at 1p.m. The deadline to purchase tickets November 30 at 12 noon in order to be eligible for this draw.
 
Draw 6: December 1 to December 31, 2021 
The draw will take place on December 31 at 1p.m. The deadline to purchase tickets December 31 at 12 noon in order to be eligible for this draw.
 

EARLY BIRD DRAWS

Early bird prizes of $500 each will be drawn on 

  • Wednesday, June 30 at 1p.m. Ticket purchases must be made no later than 12 noon on the same day. 
  • Wednesday, July 14 at 1p.m. Ticket purchases must be made no later than 12 noon on the same day. 
  • Tuesday, August 17 at 1p.m. Ticket purchases must be made no later than 12 noon on the same day. 
  • Wednesday, September 15 at 1p.m. Ticket purchases must be made no later than 12 noon on the same day. 
  • Friday, October 15 at 1p.m. Ticket purchases must be made no later than 12 noon on the same day. 
  • Tuesday, November 16 at 1p.m. Ticket purchases must be made no later than 12 noon on the same day. 
  • Wednesday, December 15 at 1p.m. Ticket purchases must be made no later than 12 noon on the same day. 

DRAWS

All monthly prize draws and early-bird draws will take place at the Oakville & Milton Humane Society, 445 Cornwall Road, Oakville, ON L6J 7S8.

The winning ticket(s) of the early bird draws are put back in the main draws to be eligible for that month’s 50/50 prize.   

The winning ticket number will be selected by a Random Number Generation (RNG) system from all raffle numbers sold for the draw. 

One prize will be awarded in the 50/50 Raffle.  

PRIZES

The value of the 50/50 single cash prize will be one-half of the total proceeds received via ticket sales.  

The amount of the 50/50 can be monitored at happytails5050.ca

Each 50/50 jackpot will have a guarantee of $1,000. 

The Early Bird prizes are $500 cash each. 

PRIZE WINNER NOTIFICATION

The winning ticket number will be posted on the Oakville & Milton Humane Society’s 50/50 website happytails5050.ca and social media pages. The winning ticket and winner’s name will be published www.happytails5050.ca/pages/winners 

The winner of each draw will be contacted by phone and/or email directly by a representative from the Oakville & Milton Humane Society. 

PRIVACY

By claiming a prize, the winner consents to the use of their first and last name, ticket number, and city/town of residence being published on the website.  

The Oakville & Milton Humane Society respects the privacy of its lottery supporters; we do not sell, rent, or trade our supporter lists. The information we collect is used to process lottery ticket purchases, keep our supporters informed about the activities of the Oakville & Milton Humane Society, and ask for their support for our mission to improve the lives of animals. If at any time you wish to be excluded from such contacts, call us at 905-845-1551 ext. 304 and we will accommodate your request. 

PRIZE CLAIM

Each winner may claim their prize by contacting the Oakville & Milton Humane Society at: (905) 845-1551 x 304, or by email at: 5050@omhs.ca. The ticket must then be brought to 445 Cornwall Road, Oakville, ON, at an agreed upon time for ticket verification. The winner will then be awarded the prize amount by cheque.  All payments will be made by cheque. 

The winner must provide photo identification and verify their phone number and address in order to claim their prize. 

Once the certified winner is verified, and provides identification with photo ID, they will be given a cheque in the amount of the declared prize which is 50% of the total sales for that draw. If the winner cannot provide photo ID, then the winning proceeds will be held until such identification can be provided. 

The winning ticket holder has 6 months in which to claim their prize from the date of the draw their ticket was purchased for. 

In the event that no winner comes forward, the winning stub will be kept in a safety deposit box and held for 6 months. After that time period has elapsed the prize will be donated back to the Oakville & Milton Humane Society, with the approval of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
